Vermont Art Collective
Art in Bellows Falls started as a group of local artists who gathered for coffee twice a month to share resources and support each other in our artistic endeavors. Through the pandemic, our efforts expanded to include the greater local community and promoting an awareness of the creative resources and artists in our area.
Art in Bellows Falls provides a platform for creatives of the Greater Falls region of VT and NH to share ideas and strategies to promote economic sustainability among its constituents as well as educating the general public and advocating the role that creatives play in the regional economy.
The Artists
NICK KEKIC, GLASS ARTIST
Nick Kekic is a third-generation glass artist making functional and decorative glasswork known for its pure forms and bright colors. He borrows from traditional glassworking techniques while developing his own creative voice with the ancient material. He endeavors to create work that is elegant in its simplicity while emphasizing the unique properties of glass and its relationship to light.
SCOTT J. MORGAN, ABSTRACT PAINTER
Scott J. Morgan is a fine art abstract painter. His unique style and aesthetic comes from his love of the ocean and his long career as both landscape architect and musician. Scott’s canvases are colorful, expressive, and accessible to both homeowner and corporate/interior design professionals.
CHARLES NORRIS-BROWN, ILLUSTRATOR
Charles Norris-Brown works in pencil, watercolor and ink with a focus on forests and people. With a background in anthropology, he has realigned his work toward children’s book writing and illustrating, and is using this platform to develop open source, interactive creating with children.
CHRIS SHERWIN, GLASS ARTIST
Chris Sherwin has been blowing glass professionally for over 27 years. Working solo in his glass studio in Bellows Falls, Vermont, running almost entirely on renewable hydroelectric power, he creates a wide range of functional and decorative pieces of hand sculpted and blown glass.
His goal is to bring the creative and technical aspects of torchwork (“Painting with Glass”) design and application together with the freedom and elegance of hand-shaped forms to create high quality, collectible pieces of glass, most often representing Nature’s flora and fauna.
JEANETTE STALEY, VISUAL ARTIST
Jeanette Staley is a multidisciplinary artist and teacher. Flying Canvas Studio is the home of her whimsical home decor, gift creations, and floor cloth workshops. Her studio practice includes collage and video that employ social engagement.
CLARE ADAMS, PAINTER, PRINTMAKER, & GLASS ARTIST
Clare Adams is a painter and printmaker that has recently turned her attention to the ancient art of painting on glass. Her traditional subject matter has been landscapes, but she has begun to use more decorative elements in her newer glass pieces. She likes playing with the transparency of the glass enamels and invites the changing light to add mystery and depth to the work.
