Light, Color, & Glass
The way light and color change with the daylight and the seasons grabs my attention. I want to reflect that in my artwork and I’ve found the medium of glass allows me to do that.
Glass feels more durable during these uncertain times and it brings with it the ability to capture the unique light at any particular moment.
The work is constantly changing with the light and the environment it finds itself in. Painting on glass allows me to layer color and adds this unpredictable element of daylight.
Light can heal and transform. Stained glass art has used this potential for centuries.
Can we heal ourselves and our planet with the help of art and light?
I don’t know but the idea excites me. Nature needs our attention. We need to notice and hold onto the connections. I hope my work can begin to express this.
